On January 16th, Blue Monday, known as the saddest day of the year, took place. This is celebrated on the third Monday of January each year and is based on a mathematical formula which concluded that on that day, the worst general conditions of the whole year. On this day, we accumulate more sadness, pessimism, and uncertainty for several reasons. But there are things we can do to keep our spirits up not only on that day but throughout the whole year.
Before knowing what we can do to keep our spirits up, we should understand that a mood is a psychic event that influences other functions of the body and mind because everything in us is related.
Why is our mood so complex?
Everything related to the human being has its complexity, and our mood is no exception. On it, we can identify feelings and emotions that are not always the ones we would like to experience. When we are sad or numb, it seems we lack the energy to reach the end of the day.

5- Follow a balanced diet
An orderly, natural, and anti-inflammatory diet can help your mood improve significantly because you will have more energy, and that will translate into greater vitality. Try to choose natural, local, and seasonal foods. Avoid refined carbohydrates, trans fats, ultra-processed fats, and sugar.
6- Enjoy a social life
Isolating yourself is one of the worst decisions you can make if you want to fight discouragement or depression because negative feelings will gain space. Try to maintain some social activity; it will help you get out of the loop and stop thinking about what makes you feel down.
7- Listen to music
Music is a very powerful tool. But only if you choose it right. Therefore, try to avoid sad and melancholic melodies and choose songs that can awaken positive emotions in you.
8- Practice introspection and meditation
